Full written post / accessibility read

The screen says Approved in three customer sessions. In one, the policy granted access. In another, the grant job is pending. In the third, the read model is stale after a rejection.

All three sessions can look identical in a demo. A second model reviewing only the same screenshot cannot infer which service accepted the entitlement or whether the customer can act.

The acceptance harness should show the policy decision version, effect job identity and current entitlement next to the status. If a required read is absent, present pending or unknown instead of a confident green.

Make the badge a projection of a documented state transition and test it against the authority that grants access. Do this because a status label without provenance hides the very incident the team must repair.

Four-beat scene transcript

1. Approved can hide three outcomes.

The screen says Approved in three customer sessions. In one, the policy granted access. In another, the grant job is pending. In the third, the read model is stale after a rejection.

Visual: The same badge is not one backend state.

2. One pixel cannot reveal the branch.

All three sessions can look identical in a demo. A second model reviewing only the same screenshot cannot infer which service accepted the entitlement or whether the customer can act.

Visual: A click transcript reports what the UI rendered.

3. Put authority behind the label.

The acceptance harness should show the policy decision version, effect job identity and current entitlement next to the status. If a required read is absent, present pending or unknown instead of a confident green.

Visual: Read the policy receipt and target service state.

4. Every label needs a state owner.

Make the badge a projection of a documented state transition and test it against the authority that grants access. Do this because a status label without provenance hides the very incident the team must repair.

Visual: Separate presentation from accepted customer outcome.

Research and claim limits

The examples identified as illustrative or simulated are design probes, not reported incidents. Vendor specifications do not establish workload performance.
