Can the next agent recover the pricing exception?

Can the next agent recover the pricing exception? The receiver says the discount is approved. Do this because message delivery is not permission. #EricFieldNotes

Full written post / accessibility read

Fictional sales approval: a temporary discount applies only to renewals after finance review. The first agent writes a clean handoff. Give a new agent only that packet and ask: may it quote the same discount to a new customer?

It can name the product and rate, then miss both renewal scope and finance review. Preserving most facts is not enough when the omitted fields change who may receive the offer. More memory text can bury the decisive clause further.

The host looks up the cited source ID, current version and approval owner outside the worker's editable packet. It checks the receiver's answer against the renewal-only condition and blocks a conflicting quote. A synthetic widened-offer control must turn the gate red.

Use a source-linked packet and round-trip readback for consequential handoffs, then enforce the current source and owner at the action gate. If the new agent widens the offer, send it back for repair before anyone receives a quote.

Four-beat scene transcript

1. Can the next agent recover the pricing exception?

Fictional sales approval: a temporary discount applies only to renewals after finance review. The first agent writes a clean handoff. Give a new agent only that packet and ask: may it quote the same discount to a new customer?

Visual: That is the handoff test I would run.

2. A fluent paraphrase can widen the offer.

It can name the product and rate, then miss both renewal scope and finance review. Preserving most facts is not enough when the omitted fields change who may receive the offer. More memory text can bury the decisive clause further.

Visual: The receiver says the discount is approved.

3. Compare the answer with current source.

The host looks up the cited source ID, current version and approval owner outside the worker's editable packet. It checks the receiver's answer against the renewal-only condition and blocks a conflicting quote. A synthetic widened-offer control must turn the gate red.

Visual: Run the test before the worker sends a quote.

4. Prove understanding and authority separately.

Use a source-linked packet and round-trip readback for consequential handoffs, then enforce the current source and owner at the action gate. If the new agent widens the offer, send it back for repair before anyone receives a quote.

Visual: Do this because message delivery is not permission.
