Imagine a toolbox on a bench and a work order clipboard on the wall. MCP is the toolbox layout. UHP shaped surfaces, still draft, are the work order. Confusing them makes you inventory wrenches when you needed a cancel button.
The model can see a tool name. The host still decides whether the call runs. Gateways and policy sit beside the schema. Draw that lock on the diagram so nobody thinks the schema is the allow list.
On the wall chart, keep start, stream, continue, cancel, and artifact collection on the middle strip. If those verbs appear only under MCP, the chart is teaching the wrong control.
Train the team to ask which object they are reviewing. Toolbox or work order. That one question prevents a lot of false confidence when a new connector lands.
