Can the builder explain the failure path?

Every extension becomes an investigation.

State, authority, failures, probes and owner in one packet.

What I would require: A protected test and an accountable owner allow fast iteration.

A model-assisted builder can ship a convincing first workflow. The leadership question is whether an owner can explain where state lives, what can repeat, which actions are authorized and how a partial operation is recovered. If those answers live only in a transcript, the product is brittle.

An illustrative team adds a second intake path. The agent can patch it quickly, but nobody knows whether both routes share the same approval record. The team now re-prompts, retests and redeploys while wondering which other assumptions were never written down.

Before funding the second feature, require a concise operating packet: authoritative state, legal transitions, permission boundaries, failure injection results, recovery procedure and the person who can defend the tradeoffs. Let agents draft it, then make the owner challenge it with a real counterexample.

Have agents write the bulk of the next patch, but require the owner to predict the failure behavior and sign off on the observed result. Do this because the team cannot thoughtfully optimize, expand or repair a system it only hopes the model got right.
